Its the story itself that slowly and quietly builds the feeling that something is amiss, and then at the end, the storyteller has to engage in some physical movement that takes the listener by surprise.  There is a Russian tale called the Vay, where the story teller at the end shouts, &quot;There you are!&quot;, and it is extremely effective.</description>
